Retrofit Measures Implemented
Along with planned External Wall Insulation, additional ventilation measures were added to ensure compliance with both Part F of the Building regulations and PAS 2035. These included the upgrade of intermittent extract fans . The Nuaire Cyfan models provided constant background ventilation together with a boost function. A schedule of door undercuts were provided to ensure incoming airflow into all habitable rooms via window trickle vents which improved extraction in wet rooms.
At each level, detailed designs were provided to ensure loft insulation met the external wall insulation to avoid ‘cold bridging’ but also ensuring adequate airflows to ventilate the roof structure.
